This romantic castle is situated above the town of the same name 50 km far from Prague. According to legend, the castle was founded by Zbynìk Zajíc of Valde. The first mentions of the originally gothic castle appear at the beginning of the 12th century. Once of the first owners of the castle was King Otakar II. It took centuries until Zbiroh was made into a contemporary Neo-Renaissance Castle. Roman emperors, Charles IV, Zikmund, and Rudolph II, lived in the castle - that is why it is said to be the Castle of Three Emperors. Almost after a millennium of the long lasting history of the castle becomes Zbiroh a historical and cultural sight and is for the first time open to the public. The newly reconstructed rooms offer arranging of exclusive events such as weddings and receptions.
